Rules of the Club

Rule no 1. The name of the club shall be The Rottweiler Club of Ireland

Rule no 2. The objects of the Club shall be
(a) to improve the breeding of Rottweilers by complying to the standard of points as approved.
(b) To promote and advance the interests of the breed by exhibiting.
(c) To adopt and publish a standard of points
(d) To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed.

Rule no 3 The club shall consist of a Committee and an unlimited number of members.

Rule no 4 The Committee shall comprise of a President, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and up to eight (8) ordinary members. However, no officer or committee member of another Rottweiler Club Committee may be a member of the committee of this club. The Irish Kennel Club representative (who shall be a fully paid up member of the club) to be elected by the incoming committee and shall then be deemed to be a full committee member. The Committee shall have the power to replace any committee member who has failed to attend 3 consecutive meetings.

Rule no 5 The management of the Club shall be vested in the Committee and five (5) members to form a quorum at any meeting of the club.

Rule no 6 All candidates for membership shall be proposed and seconded by fully paid up members of the club and elected by the committee subject to a majority of 75% of those present and voting. In the event of non-acceptance, no reasons need to be given.

Rule no 7 Any bank or other account operated by the treasurer or any member of the club must be in the name of the club. The financial year of the club shall be from 1st November until the last day of October.

Rule no 8 The club shall hold an Annual General Meeting in the month of October in every calendar year.

Rule no 9 All fully paid up members over sixteen years of age shall be entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting. No proxy or postal votes will be permitted at the AGM or at any meeting of the club.

Rule no 10 The club recognises the Irish Kennel Club as the final arbiter in any matter of dispute.

Rule no 11 In the event of the club ceasing to function, all cups, trophies and funds shall be handed over to the Irish Kennel Club to ascertain the wishes of the Donors and to administer accordingly.

Rule no 12 New rules or alterations to existing rules shall only be made at an Extraordinary General Meeting and must be passed by two thirds (2/3) of those present and voting.
